Family Pizza
About This Spot
Stepping into Family Pizza on Flatbush Avenue, you’re immediately wrapped in the comforting hum of a neighborhood spot that feels both familiar and genuine. The space is unpretentious — a handful of small tables invite casual gatherings where conversation flows as easily as the scents of bubbling cheese and freshly baked dough. It’s a place where the pace slows just enough to savor the moment, whether you’re grabbing a quick slice or lingering over a shared pie with friends.
The atmosphere here is quietly warm, animated by the easy camaraderie between staff and guests that gives Family Pizza its distinct character. The folks behind the counter move with practiced care, turning out each order with a steady kindness that makes you feel welcome without fuss. This attentive, relaxed hospitality creates a backdrop for simple yet satisfying experiences — a well-balanced crust charred just right, the gentle heat from a careful layering of toppings, and that familiar blend of tangy sauce and melted cheese that draws you back again and again.
Here, the menu is a comforting map of classic and approachable flavors, from robust pepperoni slices to lighter, brighter choices like margherita, all made to order with an eye for balance rather than flash. Garlic knots share the spotlight, adding a soft, buttery counterpoint that feels just right alongside any pie. Whether you’re there during a busy evening or in a quieter moment, the focus remains on honest, thoughtful food that pairs beautifully with neighborhood chatter and the occasional late-night game night plans.
Family Pizza holds a steady place in Brooklyn's stretch of familiar finds — a neighborhood anchor where your order is more than just food, it’s part of a gathering. The local rhythm pulses through the space, from the quick slice served to solo diners to the cheered-up rush of multiple pies going out for a friend’s get-together. It’s in those human moments, where kindness meets craft, that Family Pizza quietly thrives.

Delicious sausage and jalapeño pizza. Ordered twice from here when we’re in the area for a game night at our friend’s apartment. Now a favorite take-away for us. Be sure to request that the jalapeños be cooked with the pizza! It’s sooo much better!

The staff is so great here. We came in last night 20 minutes before close with a rush order on six pies and they were so kind and understanding, then crunched them all out in 30 minutes. They all came out delicious too! Like others said, fair pricing to put a pretty little bow on it all. I'll be coming back here next time that I'm in the area to show love.

GREAT classic NY slices! Wonderful balance of cheese to sauce. Crust was chewy and delicious. Fantastic hospitality from Alfredo too!

Great local slice joint with well-crafted cheesy pizzas and decent prices. A few little tables to enjoy your slice in too.

Out of towner review: Great NY style pizza. We were visiting Brooklyn for the weekend and was looking for a good, local spot. A large cheese pie was $14, free delivery. Staff was super friendly, took about 35 mins delivery on a Saturday night. Enjoy!

Cute pizzeria. Got the Mexican slice to eat there. Was super thin and crisp. Got a bunch of others to go. Can’t wait to try them all!!!

I’m from Maryland and I come here for the whole cheese pizza every time I’m in Brooklyn. The last visit was about 15 years ago. Now I live in Florida and I miss the pizza but I will be back there in December. Looking forward to eating one of the best pizza I’ve ever had.
